Colin Large is the Assistant Director of Study Abroad. He is responsible for assisting in the daily oversight and direction of the Study Abroad Program including overseeing the advising process for a diverse portfolio of academically focused study abroad programs, liaising with internal and external partners on academic and financial aid issues, developing and implementing a comprehensive departmental marketing plan, and contributing to the setting and achievement of departmental strategic goals.
Since his first study abroad as a student at the University of Jordan, Colin has led students to Nepal, Panama, South Africa, Rwanda, and Ireland and traveled to 14 other countries. At UNT, Colin is committed to creating opportunities for students to study abroad especially those from under-represented communities, identities, and academic programs.
Prior to his role at UNT, Colin was an Assistant Director at The University of Tulsa where he oversaw study abroad programs for the Collins College of Business and College of Engineering and Natural Sciences as well as technology and diversity initiatives. Colin has a MA in Intercultural Leadership and Management from SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, Vermont and a BA in History & Political Science from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska.
