The Study Abroad Office provides generous scholarship opportunities to students participating in a study abroad program through the UNT Study Abroad Office.

The Study Abroad Travel Grant and International Education Fee Scholarship are available only to outgoing study abroad participants. These opportunities are not open to incoming international students. 

International Education Fee Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded based on a combination of academic merit and financial need. Students must have a FAFSA on file to be eligible to receive an award. 

This scholarship is exclusively for degree-seeking UNT students on approved study abroad programs. Please only apply for the semester during which you plan to study abroad. Because these awards are limited, students may receive this award once during their undergraduate career and once during their graduate career.

The International Education Fee Scholarship is funded by the International Education Fees collected by Student Accounting each academic term. This allocation is applied to a scholarship account administered by the UNT Study Abroad Office. 

Study Abroad Travel Grant

The Study Abroad Travel Grant is based on financial need. Students must have a FAFSA on file to be eligible to receive an award.

This grant is exclusively for degree-seeking UNT students on approved study abroad programs. Please only apply for the semester during which you plan to study abroad. Because these grants are limited, students may receive the Study Abroad Travel Grant once during their undergraduate career and once during their graduate career.

The Study Abroad Travel Grant is UNT Student Service Fee funded. Each year, UNT Student Government Association generously awards an allocation from collected student service fees to the travel grant account administered by the Study Abroad Office.
