Join us on Microsoft Teams to learn more by going through the Virtual Study Abroad 101 anytime or join us for a live online session during the Spring and Fall terms every Monday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Microsoft Teams.

2. Research Programs

After attending Study Abroad 101, you'll be better equipped to search for and identify programs that meet your academic, financial and personal goals. Create a short list of programs that interest you.

3. Meet with a Study Abroad Advisor

Schedule a one-on-one appointment with a Study Abroad Advisor to discuss your list of options. This appointment will directly address your specific questions and concerns and help to identify the best program for you.

4. Meet with your Academic Advisor

While academic advisors cannot advise you on which study abroad programs are right for you, we recommend students keep their advisor informed on their intent to study abroad as early as possible. 

If you are already in the process of applying to an exchange or affiliate study abroad program, you can meet with your academic advisor if you wish to pre-approve international coursework to guaruntee its transfer applicability to your degree plan.

5. Explore Funding

Explore scholarship, financial aid and external funding to learn about available UNT, departmental, or nationally-competitive scholarship opportunities. Work with Student Money Management Center to develop a budget, and Special Programs at Student Financial Services to discuss loan options.

6. Apply

Apply online. Choose from more than 800 programs in 90 countries. Preview application documents

7. Attend Pre-Departure Orientation

Pre-Departure Orientation is required. We'll cover what to pack, who to call in the event of an emergency and more. Review Health & Safety information.
