SAO Fair Fall 2025

Your one stop shop for study abroad resources!

The Study Abroad Fair offers students the opportunity to explore hundreds of program options, learn about funding opportunities, and speak with advisors about the application process, all in one place. The event will feature program representatives, Study Abroad Office staff, and supporting offices, such as the Passport Office, Financial Aid, Student Money Management Center, and more. Read more below for a sneak peak at the fair attendees and to learn how you can maximize your time at the fair.

Before the Fair

While preparation is not required, taking the below steps can help you feel more ready for the fair:

At the Fair

Questions to ask program representatives at the fair:

  • What course/courses can I take, and what is the learning environment like?

Most programs are open to all majors, so students can chose a program that offers major- or minor-specific coursework, core classes, or elective hours.

  • What is the housing like? Is it a student dorm, apartment, homestay, or hotel?

Each program has different housing options, and some programs may have multiple residence options for students to choose from.

  • What support resources are available to me on site?

Different program types have different levels of student support, so this question will help you to understand how you’ll be supported while your abroad.

  • What excursions or activities are available on the program?

Programs may include various highlights to help you further immerse yourself in the history and culture of the city.

  • Are there any specific prerequisites for this program?

All programs require at least a 2.0 GPA, but some may have higher GPA requirements, prerequisite courses, or a major (ex: only open to business majors) or classification (ex: juniors and seniors only) requirement.

  • What is the location like?

Each location will have a different population size, cost of living, transportation network, public attractions, etc. Getting a feel for life in the city can help you to better understand whether the location will fit your specific goals and needs.
